Making Plans to PLAY this Summer with OST

by Rachel Kennedy, Professional Theatre and Education Manager

Is the spring sunshine rousing your excitement for travel plans this summer? I know it is for me! Add to that, the new initiatives from Ontario Summer Theatre (OST) aimed at getting the word out about each company’s summer seasons and you’ll be ready to tell spring to pack its bags and hit the road. OST is ready for summer!

Inspired by recent Social Media seminars from Sofie Andreou who has joined the OST team to help spread the word about everyone’s upcoming programming, I’ve spent the past few weeks reading through season announcements and planning my own theatre visits. Let me tell you; if you’re only able to make it out for a few shows this summer you might be in for some really tough decisions. OST is composed of 16 companies spanning 22 locations across Southern Ontario from Morrisburg to Port Stanley, and up to Haliburton in the North.

Once again select member theatres have joined together to offer their annual Port-To-Port Discount; where patrons can trade-in their ticket stub from any OST theatre at another partnering theatre’s box office and save 10% on a regularly priced ticket. Whether your ideal adventure involves classical performance, long drives through flowing fields or theatre under the stars, it has never been easier (or more wallet-friendly) to experience all that OST has to offer!

With so many locations and productions to choose from, you can be sure that there’s something for everyone in the 2017 summer season. So where do you start when planning your summer excursions? You can check out our OST Theatre Map to find companies in your region, peruse highlights and travel tips for each company on our Blog, or click on the links below to check out individual season offerings!
